Unveilling My Darkest Secrets..

Have you adopted a "tell everything" attitude in the relationship with your other half? Is that how a relationship should be? Or should the "RULE" apply only under circumstances when it involves insignificant issues?

Filter what to say at your own personal level, or do it at your relationship level between two of you and risk the wrath of your other half? Perhaps many of us feel that there are many things better left unsaid, and would rather keep it to ourselves. What happened to "through thick and thin" and "sharing weal and woe" some may ask? In my honest opinion, I think that the type of attitude to adopt should depend on the level of understanding and maturity both parties have in a relationship. The higher the level, the better the "tell everything" attitude would work out. Imagine having your other half getting upset about everything you have said when you choose to be honest and start telling her everything. Should you continue telling her everything and have her getting upset all the time? Or do you think it would be a good practice to carry on telling her everything in the hope that one day she'll start to view things more positively?

If you choose to keep things from her, how would that work out for your relationship in the long term then? Would it then not feel like you are leading an artificial relationship with your other half because both of you keep secrets from one another? One thing you could ask yourself is, "What are the reasons for keeping those secrets from her"? Is it for fear that you might lose her? Are you then not being fair to her by keeping these secrets from her? I don't know. Those are just opinions based on my point of view. You decide how a relationship should be, but in any other case, trust still holds the key to a relationship.

"If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything."
